The ultimate vision for Bluecoat is to create an improved customer and artist experience within this classic Liverpool Grade 1 listed building. Strengthening the important place Bluecoat already holds in the heart of cultural Liverpool. The proposed refurbishments are set to deliver on three strategic strands of work – artist’s development, participation, and artistic heritage.
Through this, Bluecoat will become more resilient with operational improvements, environmental efficiencies, maximising earned-income revenue streams, improving building legibility, reconfiguring and repurposing spaces.
In 2016 Through & Around were appointed to lead the project through the feasibility stage, to point of ACE application. In 2019 Through & Around were reappointed to undertake Phase 1 of the works – see also Bluecoat Hub Redevelopment.
